i promise that this blog is pretty cool. it's a documentation of my journey to japan, filled with personal growths through traveling and multiple identity crises. i conducted a research project through the discipline of an honors program called, "Japanese National Identity at the Crossroads: Contested Boarders, Shifting Politics". in other words, this program is an excuse for me to do cool things and meet cooler people.

my major? individualized studies - concentration in film, humanities, and food studies

you can see i have an aversion for capital letters (down with hierarchism!). kitty currently loves vietnamese sweet and sour stew, japanese aesthetics, reading chinese poems and philosophy, staring at all kinds of foods, and having fun in asian street markets.

this was my team throughout the program. we worked on different aspects of arts: josh - film, anna - packaging, kitty - cuisine, andrea - fashion. we came together for our interests in cultural studies and the love for silly jokes. i'm very proud of them.
